Music Ministry

Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honor of his name: make his praise glorious.  Psalm 66:1-2

The music ministry plays a key role in the worship services at St. Stephen’s. What sometimes cannot be said in spoken word, can be sung and understood through music.

Sr. Choir: St. Stephen’s is so blessed with talented voices. Currently 11 members, we always welcome new members.  The choir is the music leadership during the 10:30 a.m. service.  Typically a choir anthem is presented during each 10:30 service. The choir is in session September to June.  Choir rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 7:00 p.m., at the church.

The choir also plays a key role during the services of major festival services:  Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and so on.  For those who cannot participate year round, we offer the opportunity to join the choir during ‘festival times’:  Advent and Christmas; Holy Week and Easter.

Children’s Choir:  We began a children’s choir in the Fall of 2011.  Currently 4 members, it would be a joy to welcome your child to the choir as well.  Ages 7-11.  This choir rehearses after the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service.  At the current time, we offer a music presentation approximately one time per month, September through June.  Our focus is to make music fun, and teach children songs that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Special music:  Occasionally, and especially during the summer months, the church’s volunteer musicians provide special music Sunday mornings during the 10:30 a.m. service.
