Children's  Ministry

Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.  - Proverbs 22:6

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church is a youth centered congregation.

Children and youth of all ages are encouraged to participate in the life of the Church, and we feel this is the best way for them to come and know the Lord Jesus.

Our Sunday School curriculum centers around the Sunday Lectionary Readings.  This allows for the youth to come to a deeper understanding of what is being read and preached on during Sunday Worship.  This method also allows for children and parents to share together what they have learned from the Sunday Lessons.    We strongly believe in family integrated worship, children need to see their parents worshiping God!  Middle school and High School education takes place at 9:30am.   Our pre-k through 4th grade classes will begin worshiping with congregation and are dismissed following the opening prayer and a brief children's homily.  The children return to worship at the Sign of Peace.

Each Sunday, one of the parish clergy preach a brief children's homily to introduce the topic of study for the day, again to help the children and youth understand, connect and apply the Gospel message to their lives.

We also have many opportunities for youth fellowship throughout the Church year.  A Community Easter Egg Hunt, participating in the Community Car Show, outdoor activities, summer camps through Christ the King Spiritual Life Center and many more opportunities!

There is also the Youth Choir, yearly Passion Play, Christmas Caroling, Acolyting, and much more.  We are truly hopeful that our Parish will be a place that invites and encourages our youngest members to embrace and grow in their faith in Jesus Christ.
